The project

The requirement

Urban Hygiene works with hundreds of mural, graffiti and street artists across the UK. What began as anti-graffiti coating for buildings has become a trusted clear protection system for finished street art — including work by artists such as Mark at Demograffix.

What had to be solved

Once a mural is finished and goes on public display, it becomes a target for tagging and environmental wear. Artists need protection that is invisible on the finished piece and compatible with real-world maintenance by local teams.

How the system was applied

Urban Hygiene partners with artists at the protection stage, specifying Art Varnish / clear anti-graffiti glaze over cured artwork. The finish creates a wipe-clean barrier so later tags can be removed with Graffiti Wipes or Remover Spray without lifting the original work.

What changed

Artists keep the visual impact of their work while councils, property owners and art-trail teams gain a practical way to maintain pieces in public. The same approach now supports projects nationwide, from single walls to ongoing artist partnerships.
