Algae Remover

Overview

Algae Remover (Soft Wash Algae Remover) is a ready-to-use façade and render cleaner. It combines a powerful biocide with paramagnetic cleaning technology to cut through dirt, grime and traffic film, kill algae, green moss and wall lichens, and help the surface repel future soiling.

It is made for soft wash algae removal: spray it on, give it time to work, then rinse. A pressure washer is optional, though it speeds things up on large or heavily soiled areas. That makes it a practical algae remover for render, including K-rend, and a moss and lichen remover for brick, stone, decking, tarmac and hard landscaping. It is designed for FM teams, building managers and building cleaning professionals.

It suits maintenance on public buildings, campuses and estates. It is a cleaner, not a sealer or protective coating. Finishes vary, so test coloured render and painted surfaces in a discreet spot before you start.

How to use it

1. Patch-test a small, discreet area first.
2. Protect planting. Pre-wet nearby vegetation and take steps to stop run-off reaching watercourses.
3. Apply as supplied. Spray onto the affected area. It is ready to use, so there is no need to dilute it.
4. Allow contact time so the biocide can act. How long depends on the conditions and how heavy the growth is. Don’t let it dry out; reapply or leave it longer on stubborn growth.
5. Agitate stubborn areas with a cloth or brush.
6. Rinse or pressure-wash to remove the loosened contamination, then rinse nearby planting.

How much do I need?

There is no fixed coverage rate. It depends on the surface, how porous it is and how much growth there is. For a large façade or a planned maintenance programme, contact our team and we’ll help you estimate quantities.

Good to know

• Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
• PPE: wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection, and follow the data sheet for handling.
• Run-off: prevent run-off into watercourses and protect planting where practical.
• Horizontal surfaces: avoid pooling, and don’t let the product dry on the surface during the contact time.
• Before painting or sealing: rinse thoroughly and let the surface dry fully first.
• Storage: keep sealed and upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and don’t let it freeze. Storage life is at least 12 months in sealed containers.
